What did you think about dating and marriage the year before you met "the one"?
Dear Depressed Kaitlyn,
Oh boo hoo you are so sad.
Your heart was just broken because loser mc-loserson turned out to be a dud after 3 years. You didn't see that one coming? Really? Oh brother.
Yes, you just moved to Atlanta and you know absolutely no one. You found a random girl online to live with - that seems like a really bright idea.
What you don't know is that this will be the BEST decision in your whole life.
That creepy girl you decided to move in with?
She will turn out to be one of the greatest friends you have ever known.
You will also find a handful of other amazing women to grow close to.
Yes, they will be as weird as you, which is perfect.
You need to stop wasting the moments you have, looking for the next great chapter of your story - you have no idea how little time you are going to spend in this amazing part of your life.
Enjoy your friends, cherish these moments...you will look back one day and be sad that you thought your life would be like this forever...that you didn't appreciate how truly blessed you were to know so many wonderful people at that time in your life.
Have fun going out with the ladies.
You don't always need to be on the prowl for "the one".
Yes, it's ok to be tired of being single, but your life is awesome...
Your 25th birthday doesn't have to be your quarter life crisis.
Those dear friends of yours?
They will get in a car and drive to Nashville with you to celebrate. They will ::sadly:: help you find an apartment to live in.
A year after you moved to Atlanta, you will find yourself moving to a new, strange place, all alone.
At least you will have your best friends by your side while you figure it all out.
The night before you head back to Atlanta you will all go out for one last hoorah!
You will be silly. You will enjoy your time together. Looking for a boy will be the last thing on your mind.
And like I told you so many times before, this is what you should have been doing the whole year leading up to this...
Because try as you might, you can't control your life or God's timing.
You had no idea that on that cold wintery night in Nashville, as your heart was saddened about leaving your friends and your life in Atlanta...
{the only picture I have of us the night we met...ryan in the white & me staring at my shot}
...you would walk into a bar and call a boy "Dimples". That boy thought it was funny and so he bought you and your friends root beer shots. You ended up talking the rest of the night.
You had no earthly idea that you had met your husband.
See, you big dummy...you should have focused on your life and friends and the beautiful life you had in Atlanta.
Not worry yourself sick about being a spinster and about meeting "the one".
He was already meant to meet you at the end of the year...and nothing you could have done would have made that happen any faster.
Love,
Happy, Married Kaitlyn

I love this! Yours and Ryan's story is one of the neatest I have ever heard! I also love the caption under the photo! haha! You were psyching yourself up to take it!!
Awe...this was really neat. It's crazy to look back and think, "Just stop worrying about it. It'll happen when it happens....and it's great!" God really knows what he's doing!
Totally agree with others when they have said that your story is so cute! (and encouraging for this single gal!)Your letters to your single self encouraged me to explore the topic of singleness on my blog! ( http://www.caravansonnet.com/#!/2013/02/the-single-journey.html ) Thanks for sharing with us! :)
Oh, how I love this, Kaitlyn! It sucks that we spend so much time looking for "the one" instead of enjoying the moment and all life has to offer at that time. We end up getting what we want in the end but miss out on so much in the process!
This is such a great idea! I want to answer this one because I was so anti boys anti marriage and wanted to go be a martyr in an undisclosed location doing missions (I might have had high hopes). That's for sharing yours! It amazing how things work out right??
Cute idea about letters to self...I may have to check this out!
